Summer Races Are Registered

So I decided I better sign up for the rest of my summer races and commit them to my calendar. Here is what my summer schedule looks like:
My next race is the Tim Hortons Peachbud 10K on June 29th..............yup its on a Tuesday which I found a bit odd and its also at 7:30pm which I am so not happy about. Its about an hour away but I have to drive there at traffic time so it will be closer to 2 hours......not sure why I signed up for this one.....maybe because its sponsored by Tim Hortons and I love their coffee.....hoping there is free coffee voucher in my race kit.....LOL
Then less than 2 days later I am running the Barrie Canada Day run......am I crazy.....maybe. Its just a 5K so I think I will be fine. I am mainly running this one because there is a 1K kids run that my daughter wants to do so how could I say no. I am currently in search of some cute Canada Day tank tops for us to wear and maybe some cute Canada Day tattoos for our face.....yes this will just be a fun race and I will not be too worried about my time. You have to do some of these.
Then 10 days later I am running the Acura Toronto 10 Miler. I have never done a 10 Miler before, this will be my longest race to date....am I nervous? Just a little.
Lastly I signed up for the famous Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and I am registered for the half marathon. Okay for this one I am nervous. I can't believe I signed up for my first half marathon and I have only really been running since March. Yup nerves will kick in on this one! This one is a big one.....I can't wait for the expo!
So that is my summer, yes the last one is in the fall but I wanted to make sure I was registered for that one. I am thinking of running a race in August while we are there on vacation in Florida. I am still looking into that and I will post if I do run it. But I thought it would be kinds cool to run a race down there.
So what is your race schedule for the summer?

  1. Nice races! That is random to have a race on a Tuesday nite. huh? should be a different and fun experience.

and love that you'll do a race where your lil' gal can do the 1k!

  2. A race on a tuesday is a bit weird, but hey, if you have the time and inclination, what the heck. I would just treat all of the 5ks and 10ks as a build up for your half marathon in September. Are you on a training plan for that one? The 10 mile race, I would just treat as a long run in. Looks like you have your summer booked up. I am just scheduled for the half in Sept for now. No races this summer. Im not really a 5k and 10k race guy, though they are cool if I can make them. I try to run the ones you can register that day, cause my schedule is so retarded. Best of wishes, and have FUN.

  3. My last race was a night race and the city was so beautiful as the sun was going down. The big problem I came across was I wake up for work at 4 in the morning so by the time the gun went off at 7 pm I was tired. It was fun though!

  6. Huh - week day race?? That is odd. I did one in May that was on a Friday at 7pm and loved it, but I wasn't having to get up the next day for work of course. I am not signed up for any more races. I did 2 in May so that should count right??? ;-)
