Tomorrow is race day for me! It is the 10K Tim Horton Peachbud race in Grimsby, Ontario.
Yes it is the dreaded 7:30pm start time that I so don't feel like doing. To make matters worse I have an early morning appointment with the accountant in Toronto. Not sure if any of you have heard what a disaster Toronto has been thanks to the G20 Summit. It is not a place you want to be. Here is a picture of what these cowardly protesters have done to our beautiful city:
I believe it was a total of 4 police cars that were set on fire and many many store fronts were damaged. This is what the sight was in Toronto this weekend:
Yup riot police. Seriously I can not believe that these cowards turned my city into this. Okay enough of that.
So yes I have a 7:30pm race start, I have an accountants meeting at 9am in Toronto which I really don't want to go to but have no choice, I then need to come home and help my daughter make Canada Day cupcakes (the yummy unhealthy kind and with icing....horror) for a playdate that we have the next morning, and ofcourse some other business work and DH needs to go to St Catherines before my race (its about 15 minutes past the city I have the race in) so we have to leave even earlier and I thought I had planned to have a quiet relaxing, sleep in morning but that is not happening. So I am not making a prediction on my time for this 10K......whatever happens, happens! Please send good time vibes my way tomorrow please!
Yesterday was a relax at home kind of day. We were celebrating no more dance.....LOL My daughter saw the sprinkler on watering our vegetable garden and she decided she wanted to play in it. Okay seriously, we have a pool but she wanted to run in the cold sprinkler. Okay! And I took this piture of her next to our dog. And I am posting it because Kelly from Healthy Living With Kelly, please check out her blog, she always has fabulous posts. Anyho....Kelly posted yesterday about her dog Kodi that is probably having his last summer. We had a Husky, Sheeba, that died last summer and it was hard, especially on my daughter. Luckily we still have Kobe and my daughter loves this dog so much that I need to remember to take more pictures of them together. Here is a picture I took yesterday:
Kobe is a very sweet dog. But Sheeba was sweetier, so sorry but I have to post a picture of her:
Wasn't she beautiful!
Okay I need a pick me up now. So lets talk food!
So yesterday I decided to make a yummy Strawberry Cake since I still have so many strawberries from our strawberry picking day. So I made this:
It tasted DELICIOUS. It basically just has wholesome good for you ingredients....whole wheat flour, organic brown sugar, soy milk and strawberries! YUM!
So I got great comments from my bean salad that I made on Saturday. I had made a double batch so that I could make this for supper on Sunday:
This was a delicious salad and I made it with grilled Mahi Mahi. I love Mahi Mahi, my favourite fish to grill.....second is Salmon....third is sardines....fourth is Cod.....I better stop because I could go on and on.....LOL
Sorry for such a long winded post but I had two days to catch up on.
So tell me what your favourite fish to grill is? Or what your favourite food item to grill is if you aren't into fish much?

oy, i haven't been up on the news, and sorry to see your town like this. yuck!
ReplyDeleteit'll be an interesting place for a 10k race tomorrow night. despite it all, enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteGood luck on your race 3 hours ago. Hope that went well for you. lol. All that food is making me hungry. Favorite fish to grill? My wife and I just got one of those george forman grills and love it. We love to do up Tilapia. Well, Im gonna go eat now. Cheers to a Peach Bud 10K Finish.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in tonight's race. I ran the 10K last year; it was a good event. I wanted to run it but my husband is still away and I have one 9 year old to worry about. I'll still be running after work; it just won't be as much fun.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew you were going earlier; it would have been fun to go together. Next time, we'll have to plan!
Grilled shrimp is awesome!!! Can't wait to hear the race recap!
