OMG Look Who I Met At The Runners Expo

We headed into Niagara Falls yesterday to the Runners Expo of the Niagara Falls International Marathon to pick up my race kit. It wasn't very busy which was nice and it was quick to get all your stuff and get out. The expo itself was very blah and uneventful but with one minor exception. Look who I met:



That is SILVIA RUEGGER. She holds the Canadian Woman's marathon record and has held it for many many years. She is also an Olympian and on top of all that she was SUPER NICE and took the time to talk to me, talk to my daughter, sign her authograph and take a picture. I truly enjoyed meeting her and talking to her, she is an inspiration.

And Silvia signed on it and gave me a little inspiration and encouragment for my race on Sunday:



After the expo we decided to take a little walk by the falls. Unfortuantely it was chilly and windy so not the best day to be by the falls and ofcourse all I was thinking about was how very cold I will be on Sunday....bbbrrrr I hate the cold!

We then went out for a yummy dinner and yes I did have pasta to get me well fueled for the race. When I got home I checked out my racing kit and was very pleasantly surprised. I think this was the best race kit I have received this year.

They opted to do a windbreaker instead of a tshirt whick I think is fabulous. They gave us rainwear, pasta, Vitamins, cereal, riceworks snack, a nut bar and cream. Not bad after so many really crappy race kits this year.

I did a little bit of shopping at the expo. I really wanted a pair of sleeves but they did not have my size (XS) so I bought a pair that will be mailed to me. But I did see this incredible gorgeous tshirt:

When I saw the back I thought of one thing very quickly, wouldn't that make a fabulous tattoo. I do have one tattoo and I am thinking of getting another one and this design really appeals to me. So do you have a tattoo? Do you want to share what it is and where it is? You don't have to ofcourse! I do find people's tattoo choice very interesting!
